This self portrait was one of the first self portrait paintings of me as a trans woman. I covered one of the not succesfull paintings with some paper like in « Thy Antichrist ». Then, i did an dark underpainting. Finally , i started to do painting with the acrylic paint. I wanted to capture the warm, soft and cozy colours of the golden hour to express how it feels like to find who you truly are especially as a trans person. This work is one of the works that i’m slowly transitioning to more conseptual works about the issues surrounding me rather than the « celebrity fanart portraits ». I was finally starting to paint things that are more me. I feel still to this day emotionally connected to this painting.
